IRFU Charitable Trust 2026 Ulster Charity Golf Outing

Having experienced the impressive new clubhouse in Lisburn Golf Club during the summer of 2025, we are delighted to announce the 2026 Ulster Charity Golf Outing will take place Thursday 20th August, and will once again be held at Lisburn Golf Club.  After selling out in the first two years, please book early to ensure your four-ball at this fantastic rugby-meets-golf event in Ulster – all in support of seriously injured rugby players and their families.

Seriously injured player Mike Scott was our guest of honour at the 2025 outing.  Interviewed by IRFU Charitable Trust Committee Member and ex-Ulster rugby player Jan Cunningham, Mike spoke about his injury and how the rugby community and the Charitable Trust rallied around him, and continue to rally around him nearly 40 years on.  Seriously injured player Andrew Kelly, who was also the photographer and videographer on the day, also spoke to all guests about his serious injury and the support he receives from the rugby community and the Trust.

The brilliant Tommy Bowe will continue his role as MC for the 2026 Ulster Charity Golf Outing with special guests to be announced in due course.  The previous two years saw fantastic Q&As hosted by Tommy with Paula Stewart, John Cooney and Iain Henderson in 2024, followed by Bryn Cunningham, David Humphries and Richie Murphy last year, noting Cara McLean was to join us but could not skip training!

We will also have our “Hole-in-One” competition again in 2026.  No winner from the first two years but we are hoping for a third time lucky.  Many thanks again to Stephen Elliot for sponsoring the Hole-in-One last year and City of Armagh RFC and Donnelly Group in 2024.   We would especially like to thank the teams who joined us for the last two years as well as the incredible support shown by Ulster Rugby Clubs who sponsored the Tee Boxes – a remarkable number and we are very grateful to each and every one of you.  Please check out the news from the 2025 Ulster Charity Golf Outing by clicking here to see the Clubs and businesses that so generously supported last year.   We would also like to thank Ulster Rugby for supporting this event and look forward to seeing all our four-ball teams return again in 2026 along with some new faces.  As already mentioned, the event is in aid of seriously injured rugby players, with all funds raised going directly to supporting those who have left more on the rugby pitch that most of us.

To show your support, please book early by contacting Linda in the IRFU Charitable Trust by email:  linda.black@irfu.ie.

And don’t forget!  The winning team from the 2026 Ulster Charity Golf Outing will automatically qualify for the 2027 IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” which will take place in either Connacht or Ulster in 2027 … so there’s more than just bragging rights to play for!
