Join Us for the Inaugural IRFU Charitable Trust Limerick Munster Charity Golf Outing!

We’re delighted to launch the very first IRFU Charitable Trust Limerick Munster Charity Golf Outing, taking place in the beautiful Castletroy Golf Club on Wednesday, 16th September 2026.

A huge thank you to the entire Castletroy Golf Club team for their exceptional generosity and support in hosting this special event.

We are also delighted to confirm our very special guests for the post-golf Q&A are MC Alan Quinlan, along withe Orla Foley and Andy Brace.  Orla founded Orla’s Wild Ways in memory of her late brother Anthony; a major  beneficiary of this initiative is the IRFU Charitable Trust.  Andy represents the the IRFU as a referee and is a former international player for Belgium – that’s one for the Q&A!  Munster and Ireland legend Alan Quinlan has forged a very successful career as a media analyst, MC and journalist since he retired from an extended and illustrious career.  Many thanks to Orla, Alan and Andy for your support – we greatly appreciate it.

This inaugural Limerick outing marks an exciting new chapter for the Trust in Munster.  Its purpose is close to all our hearts: to raise vital awareness and support for the 36 seriously injured rugby players from across the four provinces who rely on the IRFU Charitable Trust and the extended rugby family.  Their strength and resilience continue to inspire the rugby community.

One such player, Brendan Glynn from Mallow, captured the spirit of this community perfectly when he said:
“Being involved in rugby, it’s almost like a family, a community thing, and that has been a key support to me – a key part of my life.”

Despite his injury, Brendan and his family remain passionate supporters of the sport, turning out for Mallow RFC, Munster, and Ireland. We invite you to hear Brendan’s powerful story and watch the video on this page created by our Corporate FRIEND and Video Partner, Get Broadcasting.

A heartfelt thank you to Munster Rugby for their continued backing – not only for this outing, but also for their support of the Cork Munster Charity Golf Outings since 2023.  We are equally grateful to the many Rugby Clubs, Schools, Individuals, and Businesses across Munster who stand with the Trust.  Your generosity helps fund essential needs such as medical treatment, physical therapy, mobility supports (wheelchairs, home renovations, car adaptations), and ground-breaking spinal injury research.

Our National Media Partner, DMG Media and Business Plus, will spread the word far and wide – thank you to the entire team for your ongoing commitment.  Special thanks to Keanes Jewellers for sponsoring the 1st Team Prizes, to Black Emerald Irish Whiskey for sponsoring the 2nd Team Prizes, Castletroy Golf Club for sponsoring the 3rd Team Prizes, Fontenoy Engineering (through a personal friend of seriously injured player Danny Noonan) for sponsoring the Best Drives, and Eleven 14 Coffee for sponsoring the ‘Nearest the Cups‘.  Many thanks as well to Intersport Elverys for their ongoing support of all the Trust’s provincial charity golf outings, to our Goody Bags sponsor – Lyons of Limerick, and to our guest team sponsor Vusion.  We are also thrilled to have support from the Limerick Trust Team led by Bertie Smith, Peter Fitzgibbon and Ollie Hodges, alongside Joy Neville, John Lacey and already mentioned Orla Foley and Andy Brace.

Because this is more than golf.  This is community.  This is support.  This is rugby.
