What a day! Our 7th annual Golf Outing – kindly supported by Pinergy
The IRFU Charitable Trust 7th annual golf outing, kindly supported by Pinergy, took place once again in the spectacular setting of Powerscourt Golf Club on a beautiful day for golf – just have a look at the adjacent video. Thank you to our Corporate Patron Get Broadcasting for creating another stunning video of the day. Following a 12midday shotgun start, the twenty two teams battled it out with the 1st team prize presented by Peter Bastable of Pinergy to: ARU Joinery who won TaylorMade Stealth Hybrid Drivers (kindly sponsored by Pinergy); 2nd team prize went to Pinergy (well done sponsors!) who won the Tipperary Crystal Twist Decanter and Tumblers Sets; and the 3rd team prize, Canterbury Vouchers, was secured by U20s Grand Slam Winning Coach and his team – Richie Murphy! Congrats to all our winners as well as the winners of the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pinergy. And special thanks to our sponsor Pinergy for providing exceptional 1st team prizes again, as well as thanks to Tipperary Crystal and Canterbury – your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
We also had a number of winners of our very successful Raffle – the items were impressive as you will see in the Table Card below. Again, thank you to all our supporters who contributed to the Raffle Prizes – your ongoing support of our seriously injured players is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who participated on the day: our golf teams, volunteers and staff as well as Powerscourt staff – thank you for creating a great day for everyone. Also, a thank you goes out to our goody bag contributors – which keeps getting better every year; and our Tee Sponsors (which you can see on the Table Card below).
Following a gourmet BBQ, which most of our golfers attended, our special guests Richie Murphy and Ireland Women’s 15s Head Coach, Greg McWilliams gave us some very interesting insights in to the coaching world of rugby – how their teams are developing, the impact of the pandemic, how the game is evolving and the future of Irish rugby! Nigel Osborne was the MC and once Nigel was finished with the serious side of the Q&A – Nigel proceeded to introduce our other special guests – including Bill McLaren, Matt Williams and Brent Pope … you can watch these very special guests in the below videos!! On a serious note, thank you to Richie, Greg and in particular Nigel for making it a great experience for everyone.
Finally, once again we would like to thank our Golf sponsor – Pinergy, who have already sponsored the Outing three times and have kindly committed to sponsoring our 2023 Golf Outing. Details to follow and please book early to secure your team. Thank you everyone for your support of our seriously injured rugby players – we greatly appreciate it.
