IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” and the 2025 Leinster Charity Golf Outing at The K Club

The inaugural IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” takes place at The K Club’s Championship Course – The Palmer North, on Friday 6th June 2025.  The 150th Golf Cup coincides with the Charitable Trust’s Leinster Charity Golf Outing which is kindly sponsored by Pinergy.  We are also very excited to be welcoming back the four winning teams from our 2024 Provincial Charity Golf Outings, who will join a limited number of additional teams to compete for the very first “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”.   The winning Provincial teams from 2024 in order of qualification are:

  • Ulster:  GMcG Group
  • Munster:  Rochestown Nursing Home
  • Connacht:  Alrí Construction
  • Leinster:  Custom Electronics

Deepest thanks to The K Club for very kindly hosting the first IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” on the spectacular Palmer North course which will host the Irish Open a few months later in September 2025.  All proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting the 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families across the four provinces of Ireland.  Without the support of the wider rugby family, the IRFU Charitable Trust could not continue to care for all seriously injured rugby players in helping them live their lives to the fullest.

The IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” forms part of the 150 years of Irish Rugby anniversary celebrations which take place during the 2024/2025 season.  The 150 celebrations commence with the “150 Gala Ball” featuring special guests and Grand Slam Captains Fiona Coghlan, Brian O’Driscoll, Paul O’Connell and Johnny Sexton in November 2024; and end with a historical match on Friday 20th June 2025 when the British and Irish Lions take on Argentina at the Aviva Stadium – two weeks after the IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”!

Furthermore, the IRFU Charitable Trust will be continuing the “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” by hosting the event in a different province each year with Munster set to host the Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup in 2026, followed by Ulster in 2027, Connacht in 2028 and then returning to Leinster in 2029!  And as with this event, each provincial winning team will be invited to the following year’s 150th Golf Cup to challenge for the title.
