IRFU Charitable Trust 2025 Rugby Lunch kindly sponsored by Aon

Another wonderful afternoon awaits at the InterContinental Hotel Dublin on Friday 14th November 2025 when the annual IRFU Charitable Trust Rugby Lunch, kindly sponsored by Aon, takes place.  Always a fun and entertaining day for rugby fans and those who continue to support the 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families across the four provinces of Ireland.

Taking place the day before Ireland face Australia in the Aviva Stadium, the Rugby Lunch kicks off with a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Guinness, followed by an always delightful three course meal with wine.   Fans will once again be treated to a Q&A with special guests to be announced from the world of rugby.  There will also be a Live Auction on the day, remembering the very hot Lots from the Rugby Lunch in 2024 which were very kindly donated by Stellaer 212 and Ballyfin Demesne.

The Chicago “Rematch” between Ireland and New Zealand will have taken place at the start of November, followed by Japan before Ireland meet Australia on the 15th of November, ending with a clash of the Titans match between the number 1 and number 2 teams in the world – South Africa v Ireland in the Aviva Stadium.  There will be tickets up for grabs in the Live and Silent Auctions for both the Australia and South Africa matches!

Special thanks to everyone who attended the Rugby Lunch last year.  Your compassion for all seriously injured rugby players was reflected in the words of one of our very special guests last year, seriously injured player Brendan Glynn, who spoke passionately about how the rugby community has always been there for him and his family, both before and after his accident on the rugby pitch.  Importantly Brendan also spoke how much the game of rugby still means to him and his family; with Brendan mentioning how both his daughters, Maeve and Grace, played rugby.  Another very special guest at the 2024 Rugby Lunch was David Ross took his passion for rugby to another level becoming a Wheelchair Rugby Paralympian at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Support from the rugby community, including guests on the day, volunteers, sponsors of prizes, corporate supporters, the IRFU and the four provinces, are vital to ensuring continuity of care for all 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families, whom the IRFU Charitable Trust supports.  Special thanks in particular to Aon who have very kindly sponsored the Rugby Lunch for many years.
