The sun shone brightly over Fota Island Resort on Friday 19th June, but it was the warmth, generosity and spirit of the Munster and wider Irish rugby community that truly illuminated the IRFU Charitable Trust 2026 Munster Cork Charity Golf Outing.
Sunshine, superb golf, great company and outstanding generosity combined to make the 2026 IRFU Charitable Trust Leinster Charity Golf Outing at The K Club another resounding success, raising vital funds to support seriously injured rugby players and their families across Ireland.
On Saturday, 21st March 2026, the Ken Wall Centre of Excellence was transformed into a powerhouse of passion, purpose, and performance as 16 outstanding corporate teams came together for the very first Rugby Rowers Corporate Championship, rowing alongside the legendary Rugby Rowers as they achieved an incredible “Four-in-a-Row” World Records – all in aid of the IRFU Charitable Trust and Barretstown.
At the heart of the evening were two extraordinary men, our seriously injured players Brendan Glynn and Tommie Kyne. Brendan was joined by his wife Deirdre, and Tommie by his wife Teresa – their presence a testament to the strength and resilience of the families at the core of our rugby community.
“Windy, wet, wild but wonderful!” whispered a rain-soaked golfer returning to the Galway Bay Golf Clubhouse to submit a very damp scorecard at the second IRFU Charitable Trust Connacht Charity Golf Outing, kindly sponsored by Pinergy
Our guest of honour at the IRFU Charitable Trust 2025 Ulster Charity Golf Outing, Mike Scott, said: “The support I received from the Charitable Trust right from the time of my accident has been a key factor in my rehabilitation and the quality of life I now have.”
The craic was 90 and the winning score was a cracking 93! Seriously injured rugby player Danny Noonan, who joined us along with seriously injured player Brendan Glynn, was delighted with the winning score as it belonged to his own Rugby Club – Galbally RFC!
Wow was the theme of the day at The K Club’s stunning Palmer North Championship Course which hosted the inaugural IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”, coinciding with the 2025 Leinster Charity Golf Outing, kindly sponsored by Pinergy on Friday 6th June 2025
The night before Ireland took on France in the Guinness Six Nations at the Aviva, the annual IRFU Charitable Trust Rugby Ball in association with Vodafone Foundation once again took place at the Round Room at the Mansion House.
A wonderful afternoon was had by all 360 or so guests at the annual IRFU Charitable Trust Rugby Lunch, kindly sponsored by Aon, which took place for the second year running at the stunning, and very popular, InterContinental Hotel
