Portumna Golf Club to Host the 2026 IRFU Charitable Trust Connacht Charity Golf Outing

The IRFU Charitable Trust is proud to announce Portumna Golf Club as the official Course Partner for the 2026 Connacht Charity Golf Outing, taking place on Wednesday 7th October.

Set against the stunning backdrop of one of Ireland’s finest parkland courses, this year’s event promises to be our biggest Connacht outing yet. Recognised as the No. 1 Parkland Golf Course in Connacht, Portumna Golf Club provides the perfect setting for a day that celebrates friendship, rugby, and giving back to those who need it most.

A sincere thank you to Justin O’Byrne and everyone at Portumna Golf Club for their incredible support.  We are excited to welcome the Connacht rugby community to such a spectacular venue.

The Connacht Rugby Family Coming Together

At its heart, this event is about the strength of the rugby community.

We hope to once again welcome seriously injured player Tommie Kyne and his wife Teresa as we gather to support players and families whose lives have changed forever through rugby.  Their presence serves as a powerful reminder of why this event matters and of the unwavering support that exists across the Connacht rugby family.

Every year, clubs from across the province demonstrate what makes rugby so special.  We are incredibly grateful to those who have supported previous outings, including, Buccaneers RFC, Carrick-on-Shannon RFC, Castlebar RFC, Claremorris Colts RFC, Corrib RFC, Creggs RFC, Galwegians RFC, Gort RFC, Sligo RFC and Tuam RFC.

In 2026, we’d love to see even more clubs, former players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, and local businesses join us. Whether you’re entering a team, sponsoring a tee, or simply attending the evening festivities, every contribution helps make a real difference.

Connacht Rugby Returns as Provincial Partner

We are delighted to once again have the outstanding support of Connacht Rugby as Provincial Partner.

For the first time, Stephen Long from Connacht Rugby will host the evening as MC, leading what promises to be a memorable post-golf programme, including a special Q&A with guests from Connacht Rugby.

It’s another fantastic opportunity to bring together the rugby community while raising vital funds for an important cause.

Thank You to Our Sponsors and Partners

The success of this event would not be possible without the continued support of our generous partners.

Our sincere thanks to Aerogen, Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Intersport Elverys for once again supporting the Connacht Charity Golf Outing.

We are also delighted to welcome back Galway Bay FM as our Radio Partner, whose continued promotion has helped the event grow year after year. Thanks also to our National Media Partner, DMG Media, particularly Business Plus, for helping raise awareness of the work of the IRFU Charitable Trust.
