IRFU Charitable Trust 2024 Rugby Ball in association with Vodafone Ireland Foundation

After our best Rugby Ball yet in March 2023, we are already planning for an even bigger and better rugby occasion for 2024!   Friday March 15th 2024 is the date and the Ball will be held in the very popular Round Room at the Mansion House, Dawson Street.  The service and the food were outstanding for the 2023 Rugby Ball and in particular, the complimentary wine, very generously donated by Fallon & Byrne, went down an absolute treat with all our guests on the night.

Thank you once again to Vodafone and the Vodafone Ireland Foundation for sponsoring the night.  Without the ongoing collaboration and compassion of Vodafone and the Vodafone Ireland Foundation, we would not be able to have such an amazing event that is a calendar highlight for rugby fans; fans who continue to support the Charitable Trust in helping seriously injured players and their families.

For the 2024 Rugby Ball, we are offering an early bird rate of €2,500 per table of ten.  If you wish to take up the early bird offer you must book and pay for your table by Monday 25th September 2023 to secure this rate.  All funds raised on the night go to supporting our seriously injured rugby players and their families.  Thank you once again to our loyal supporters who returned again in 2023 and a special welcome to those who will joined us for the first time – we hope to see you all again, and hopefully some more new faces, in 2024.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  To book your table, please contact Linda Black on 01 647 3866 or email charitabletrust@irfu.ie.

Guests will once again be treated to a drinks reception at 7pm led by our loyal drinks partner Guinness – who very kindly provided Guinness and Rockshore for guests on arrival, as well Fallon & Byrne who kindly sponsored the Prosecco for the drinks reception.  The reception will then be followed by a silver service dinner from 8pm with plenty of entertainment to be announced.  A steadfast supporter of the Charitable Trust for many years, our MC for the 2023 Ball was the highly entertaining Risteárd Cooper; and the time Risteárd spoke with seriously injured player Ciaran McCarthy, was a particularly special moment during the night.

The 2024 Rugby Ball takes place the Friday before the 2024 Guinness Six Nations Super Saturday when Ireland takes on World Cup group opponents Scotland in the Aviva Stadium.  We are fairly certain there will be an auction item for tickets to the match (and maybe a bit more!) up for grabs on the night!

Along with the Scotland surprise, we will have unique rugby prizes for our live auction as well as prizes from the world of music, sports and entertainment for our silent auction – make sure to register early to get your bid placed for the silent auction items that catch your eye.  For 2023, we had outstanding live auction items and a record 32 silent auction items.  Henry Beeby from GOFFS very kindly gave his time to conduct an incredible live auction in 2023, very ably supported by his son George and colleague Tadhg Dooley.  The ever popular raffle will also take place on the night with at least one prize per table; as well as the fun “Heads & Tails” start to kick us off where a hamper will be up for the last guest standing.  Fallon & Byrne very kindly sponsored the heads & tails hamper in 2023 as well as special thanks to Butlers Chocolates for their surprise hamper which one of our guests were lucky to get their hands on!  As always, we greatly appreciate the generosity of all of you who contribute to the auction items and raffle prizes on the night including Vodafone, Guinness, Fallon & Byrne, Aer Lingus, Bank of Ireland, Leinster Rugby and the IRFU to name a few.

Some of our seriously injured players and family members will also join us on the night.  As well as more special guests from the world of rugby with Linda Djougang, Ian McKinely and Sean O’Brien being our special guests in 2023, interviewed by our friend Nigel Osborne.  With the night’s entertainment ending with a live band – the brilliant Spring Break had everyone on the dance floor for the 2023 Ball!  To see just how good the 2023 ball was, watch the video of the night to the top right of this page created by our wonderful Corporate Friend and Video Partner Get Broadcasting.

Finally we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support – sponsors and donators, committee members and volunteers, colleagues and all our loyal and generous guests. Your support for those who have been seriously injured playing the game we all love is greatly, greatly appreciated.
