IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” and 2026 Munster Charity Golf Outing
FORE! The fourth annual Munster Charity Golf Outing, kindly sponsored by Pinergy, will take place on Friday 19th June 2026 at Fota Island Golf Resort. The 2026 Munster Charity Golf Outing will also host the second year of the IRFU Charitable Trust “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”!
The winners of the 2025 Munster Charity Golf Outing – Galbally RFC, will join the winners from the 2025 Connacht, Munster and Leinster Charity Golf Outings in Fota on the 19th of June 2026, to compete for the “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”. Our guest of honour at our 2025 Munster Charity Golf Outing – seriously injured player Danny Noonan, was delighted his club, Galbally RFC will go forward to represent Munster at next year’s “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup”.
Danny, who was interviewed by retired Munster player Jeremy Staunton at the 2025 event, is one of seven seriously injured players in Munster whom the IRFU Charitable Trust supports. Danny spoke to Jeremy about how incredibly supportive the rugby community have been to him and his family since his accident playing for Galbally RFC, as well as the help and support he has received from the Trust over the years. Jeremy was joined by Enya Breen and Declan Kidney on stage with MC Daire O’Brien for a brilliant Q&A. Enya spoke about the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup, including the excitement of facing New Zealand again after Ireland beat the Black Ferns in 2024. Jeremy spoke about the fun times he and his teammates had in Munster, much to the bemusement of head coach at the time Declan Kidney sitting beside him!
Many other Munster stars joined us for the 2025 Munster Charity Golf Outing including Laura Guest, Shane Daly and Donal Lenihan, as well as Irish Jockey Paul Townend and Kerry Football greats Éamon Fitzmaurice and Tomás Ó Sé. The special guests for the 2026 Munster Charity Golf Outing and “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” will be announced in due course.
In keeping with the previous Munster Charity Golf Outings, tee times for four-balls will commence from 1pm with tee-off times available on the 1st and 10th at ten-minute intervals. The event was a sellout again in 2025 with a waiting list, hence please book early to reserve your team and be in with a chance of winning the “Irish Rugby 150th Golf Cup” plus the 1st team prize sponsored by Pinergy. The 2025 1st Team Prizes were Big Max Dri Lite Cart Golf Bags; the 2nd Team winning Organic Cotton Throws kindly sponsored by Conscious Convert; and the 3rd team prizes, sponsored by the IRFU, Irish Rugby 150th Commemorative Jerseys. We also had a Nearest the Pinergy competition, kindly sponsored by Pinergy; as well as a new sponsor in 2025 for the “Best Drives” – Johnson & Perrott. Many thanks to all our sponsors, including the fantastic support from Munster Rugby, the media support from the Irish Examiner, and to Guinness for sponsoring the drinks reception.
Many thanks as well to all the teams who participated, including all the Rugby Clubs, individuals and businesses who took a team, sponsored Tee Signs, or donated to the Goody Bag, the Charity Raffle and Silent Auction. To read up more about the 2025 Munster Charity Golf Outing – please click here.
We hope to be joined by all our sponsors and teams again for the 2026 Outing where once again golfers will receive a lunch roll with tea/coffee, as well as receiving their goody bags at registration, before teeing off at their designated time. Following their rounds, golfers and guests will be treated to a gourmet BBQ and some complimentary beverages, as mentioned, kindly sponsored by Guinness. Later that evening, we will have a Q&A with special guests hosted by the brilliant Daire O’Brien, as well as a Charity Raffle, and a Silent Auction for some exclusive prizes.
The three previous Munster Charity Golf Outings have raised significant funds for our seriously injured rugby players and their families; and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined us over the years. Deepest thanks to everyone for your support and we hope to see you all again in 2026.
