IRFU Charitable Trust 2024 Rugby Lunch kindly sponsored by Aon

We are delighted to announce Olympians and Rugby 7s stars Erin King, Jordan Conroy and Harry McNulty will be our very special guests for the IRFU Charitable Trust Rugby Lunch at the InterContinental Hotel Dublin on Friday 8th November 2024.  Erin King is also taking the 15s game by storm with a brace of Tries against the World Champions New Zealand in Vancouver, 30th September with Erin scoring her second try on the 79th minute to draw the sides level; Dannah O’Brien kicked the conversion to secure a historic and well deserved victory!  You can watch the highlights by clicking here.

The WXV1 Ireland victory over New Zealand bodes well for the upcoming men’s match the evening of the Rugby Lunch.   Back-to-back Guinness Six Nations Champions Ireland will take on Rugby World Cup Runners-up New Zealand in a highly anticipated match since the All Blacks knocked Ireland out of the World Cup in France at the Quarter Final stage.  Previous to that meeting, Ireland secured the historic series win in New Zealand so there is no shortage of motivation for this match with the women’s team adding to the rivalry in spectacular form!

For those attending the Ireland v New Zealand match , why not book your seat or a table for ten at the Rugby Lunch.  The Rugby Lunch kicks off at 12midday with a drinks reception – kindly sponsored by Guinness, followed by a three course silver service lunch from 1pm – giving you and your guests plenty of time to get to the Aviva for the 20:10 match kick-off!

Our deepest thanks once again to Aon for their ongoing support.  Without the commitment and compassion of Aon and our other sponsors, the Rugby Lunch would not be possible noting the Lunch is a key calendar occasion for the Charitable Trust in raising funds to support the 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families across the four provinces of Ireland.   Please take the time to listen to Niall McCool’s interview on this page kindly filmed by the Charitable Trust’s Media Partner Business Plus.   In addition, have a look at the wonderful video from the Lunch, also on this page, created by the Trust’s Video Partner Get Broadcasting.

The support from the rugby community is vital to ensuring continuity of care for all 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families.  The generosity shown by all at last year’s Lunch was humbling with a record attendance of over 400 people as well as a record amount raised through an incredibly supported Charity Raffle, and our Live and Silent Auctions.  Thank you to everyone who purchased a Table, who so kindly contributed prizes and gifts, who bid on the Auctions, and volunteered their time on the day – your support is always greatly, greatly appreciated.  We hope this year’s Rugby Lunch is once again a day to remember.  This year, long term supporter to the IRFU Charitable Trust, Keith Lowe from DNG, will be our Auctioneer for the Rugby Lunch Live Auction – thank you Keith for your ongoing support.

Speaking of the support from rugby fans, a very heartfelt thank you to our two special guests for last year’s Lunch – Six Nations Grand Slam Winning Captain’s Fiona Coghlan and Johnny Sexton; as well as Andy Dunne who will once again be our host for this years’ Rugby Lunch.

To show your support and ensure you secure your table, please contact Linda Black on 01 647 3866 or email charitabletrust@irfu.ie.  A table for ten people is €1,600.  Thank you again for your ongoing support of our seriously injured rugby players and their families.
